Policies and Guidelines

Booth Space Fees:

An 8x10 indoor booth space is $35.00.  An outdoor 10x10 booth space is $25.00.  These spaces are for retail sales and

include those vendors that fall into the categories of House Bill 970 (baked goods, canned goods, etc.).  A farmer's market

outdoor 10x10 space is $15.00 (only for vendors selling fresh fruits, fresh vegetables, fresh herbs, nuts, and yard eggs).

There are llimited open air spaces with cover for an additional $10.00.

Electrical power is available for an additional $10.00, on a limited basis.  It will be provided with a one plug 110-volt outlet.

Vendors connecting to The Market in Santa Fe electricity must use an exterior grade 3-prong extension cord that meets OSHA
requirements for outdoor use.  No external generators will be allowed.

Market date payments should be submitted for subsequent market dates seven (7) days prior to the desired Market date once

a vendor has been approved.  Late payments or on-site payments may cause a vendor to be placed in spaces on a first come,

first served basis.  Vendors may submit advance payment for a maximum of three (3) consecutive market dates.  Contact the

market coordinator to schedule dates or check date availability.

Refunds will be issued only if a notification of cancellation is received within seven (7) days prior to a scheduled Market date.

Failure to show at a scheduled Market date will result in forfeiture of all fees.  More than one failure to show may result in
loss of approved vendor status.

Cancellation of a Market date due to “inclement weather” will result in all vendor payments to be applied to the next scheduled

Market date. The Market in Santa Fe will not be cancelled if there is only a minimal chance of “inclement weather”.  Should the

weather conditions be more severe, all vendors should contact the Market Coordinator to verify the cancellation of a

scheduled Market date.

Space Set-up  must be provided by vendors for tents/canopies, chairs, tables, table coverings, displays, trash receptacles, etc.

Vendors may begin their set-up at 7:30 am and must be in place and ready to open for business at 9:00 am.  No sales should take

place before 9:00 am.  No vehicles will be allowed in the market area after 9:00 a.m.  Vendors arriving after 9:00 a.m. must hand

carry their merchandise to their booth space.

Booth identity should be displayed with a sign or card stating the vendor’s name or the name of the business.

Merchandise display for retail vendors will be expected to be in a professional, creative manner that will feature each vendor’s

merchandise.  All retail vendor tables must be covered with table covering and all totes, boxes, crates, etc. must be neatly stacked

or hidden from view.  All retail and flea market vendor equipment and displays are to be freestanding and cannot be affixed or

anchored to the assigned space or adjacent structure.

Items for sale must be only those that have been approved on the vendor application.  Any new items must be reviewed and

approved by The Market in Santa Fe.  This prevents a vendor from selling similar products to those that have already been

scheduled by a specific vendor.

Booths must be staffed for the entire Market date.

Booth dismantling may begin when the Market closes at 3:00 pm.  Courtesy to vendors and shoppers requires that all vendors

remain at the Market until closing.  Vendors who leave or begin dismantling before closing time may result in loss of “Approved
Vendor” status.

Clean-up of each space area is the responsibility of each vendor.  The area must be thoroughly cleaned and all trash must be

removed off site by 4:00 pm.

Compliance to any and all city, county, state and federal rules/laws that pertain to their product lines is the sole responsibility

of each vendor.

Sales tax requirements for the State of Texas is the sole responsibility of each vendor.  Vendors should be prepared to provide

verification during Market hours upon request.

all the Galveston County Health District’s regulations.   An accredited food handler's completion course card or Permit issued

by the Galveston County Health District must be available during market hours to provide verification upon request.

A Health Inspector may visit the market to ensure compliance.  Failure to comply with Health Department requirements may
